Apple Pi Cafe
Client: California Academy of Sciences
Specs: Full color.
Objective: To create a new identity system for the soon-to-be
renovated cafe at CAS.
Solution: CAS caters to many audiences but a majority of their
demographic is school kids. I wanted to create a cafe that was cozy and fun with a concept that combined the CAS education mission with food that could be served at the cafe. The colors were inspired by the namesake red and green apples with accents in yellow and brown for the crust. The leafy elements of the mark bring a fun energy that represents biology, while the apple seed becomes the mathematical symbol for pi, another scientific reference.
