Einstein's Dreams, April 24, 1905
Specs:10x21in, full color.
Objective: To use type and shapes to express a visual interpretation of a story from the book “Einstein’s Dreams.”
Solution: The story chosen for this piece focused on the duality of two types of time-keeping people. Some people keep time precisely by the clock (mechanical time) and others by the rhythms of their own hearts and spirits (body time). This composition presents these concepts as polar opposites of each other using complimentary colors and inversion of space to highlight their differences. The juxtaposition of organic forms and mechanical forms in the same space show that both exist, but inversions demonstrate that the perception of them is not the same.
