Resolution Magazine
Specs: 8x10in, 24 pages, saddle-stitched, full color.
Objective: To design a magazine focused on non-commercial ways that designers could contribute to their community.
Solution: Since we were allowed to choose our non-commercial topics, our group chose to focus on ways that graphic design can help children. Posed as a hypothetical design firm, the group had to present the research to the client board members (the class and professor) before moving on to individual design solutions. Each group member wrote and contributed articles to create the five feature stories in the magazine. The theme I chose for this issue was based on the children’s game, Duck, Duck, Goose that isolates something different in a group of sameness. This was to reflect the mission of the magazine, which is to think differently about the influence of design, and the issue’s topic centered around children. (Photography: Amanda Rohde, stock)
